Charity Shop Finds

So after a trip to the charity shops of Withington I returned with a 1989 edition of The Complete Atlas of Britain and a field guide to The Birds of Britain....Badges anyone?

So What Have I Been Doing?

Well....I used the £2 coins I've been saving in a jelly tots tube to buy a badge maker! and it is VERY cool.

I have begun to experiment with different focuses and themes for these badges. It is quite a challenge to work on such a small scale, 25mm to be exact! The badges above have been created from the inside of an envelope and a postage stamp. I think they are quite nautical. Springy!

Red Door Gallery

While spending a recent weekend in Edinburgh, I visited the loveliest shop on Victoria Street called Red Door Gallery, a boutique art space whice is dedicated to supporting the work of independent and emerging designers.

They have a fantastic collection of prints, jewellery, bags and accesories, cards, homeware and other treats, all at really affordable prices. And what's more - everything in their shop is available to buy online! Really! That's unusual for a boutique shop like this isnt it.

I am always stitching and drawing and stamping and making, and my love for all things crafty helped me choose to study a degree in Textiles, but at Red Door Gallery I was inspired to make more out of it, to post them on a website and share my makes with you!
